 The Broken Promise

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered: 


Section 1. Purpose and Policy. Our Nation’s security, prosperity, and freedom would not be possible without our veterans. Many service members paid the ultimate sacrifice. Many others bear visible and invisible wounds from their service. Too many veterans are homeless in America. Each veteran deserves our gratitude. 


Yet the Federal Government has not always treated veterans like the heroes they are. During the previous administration, unaccountable bureaucrats treated them shamefully, failing veterans when they needed help most and betraying the taxpayers who rightfully expect better. 


The story of the West Los Angeles Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center is indicative of this failure.


The Veterans of this Nation are calling for your support

This is the leaseholders pain tax. The more we hurt, the more we pay. And the profits are immense. 


We need clear Federal Housing laws that prohibit the use of Veteran’s disability compensation in calculating rent in project-based housing. Disability compensation IS NOT CONSIDERED INCOME


TRUTH, TRUST & ACTION SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS, & SOLVING VETERAN HOMELESSNESS REQUIRES GENUINE ACTION, & PUBLIC TRUST FOR THE VETERAN FAMILY IS NOT NEGOTIABLE.


It is time that the Veterans Administration, the government and state officials be held accountable for not keeping the land for what it’s intended purpose of housing disabled Veterans. It is time that VA acknowledge their actions and be transparent. It is time they step up to the home plate and face the Veterans of this nation, stop pretending they don’t know how to play ball, because they have been playing ball all along but for the other teams and not the teams they should been batting for. The VA grants leases, well below market rate rents, to non-Veteran entities who provide no services for Veterans. The EUL (Enhanced Use Leases), requires the leased property is supposed to primarily benefit Veterans.  Most of the tenants on the homeland provided no services at all to Veterans, they merely took up space at a steal.


We are tired of the VA, government and state officials trying to pull the wool over our eyes. We want honesty, we want clarity, we want transparency and we want our Veterans of this nation taken care of. Stand we will, quiet we won’t be…we are here to advocate for the Veterans of this nation. And we will stand our ground, we will continue to be loud and we will not let them get away with putting our Veterans on the back burner. 


Veterans and their families must be integral in decision making, permanent deed restrictions must be recognized and enforced, and the National Soldiers home must be recognized as a representation of our country’s obligation and accountability towards its Veterans. 


This Nationwide petition has been created to correct this “American Injustices”. Yes, you read it correctly! This fight to restore the promise of this land has been ongoing for decades, administration after administration has put this fight on the back burner, leaving our Veterans on the streets with no care or our disabled Veterans in improper housing that does not have adequate handicap accessible ramps, doors, and living quarters. We are constantly getting promises, promises of fixing the system, fixing the problems, promises that are completely empty because those in this Nations Administration wants to silence those who bring forth the facts.


To achieve our goal, we are seeking over one million signatures from Veterans, their families, and their supporters. We sincerely thank you for your support.


We need your help!!! We need this “American Injustice” brought out into the media’s hands. It takes funds to have articles put into the newspapers, it takes funds to get interviews such as radio, tv, and pod cast. We take these funds out of our own pockets and sometimes we aren’t able to do as much as we need to get done. Please stand with us, for us…these Veterans.


Veterans wore the uniform of service for country to protect the nation, now we are asking you to help them by helping us to correct the “American Injustice”. 


The U.S. government shall launch an immediate moratorium of disingenuous third-party contractors & the evictions of interlopers, restoration of genuine oversight that equally includes the veteran family.  These contractors seem to drive the cost of rehabilitating the existing housing units up and further make every attempt to place Veterans in low quality housing that is far away from the home, and from their needed medical facility. What is worse, the staff that is hired to care for the residents seem to think their main job is to abuse and torture Veterans literally. These people need to be replaced with care givers that truly care for the well-being of our Veterans. The “interlopers” have elevated themselves to the false claim of being the stake holders. The ONLY STAKE HOLDERS ARE DISABLED VETERANS AND IT IS HIGH TIME OUR DISABLED VETERANS BE PUT FIRST AND TREATED WITH THE DIGNITY THEY HAVE EARNED.
