Do you have any idea why this website means so much to every living Veteran and to me? Let me explain. There are ongoing issues that cloud our minds and divide us, making us forget that we once stood united for the Greatest Nation in the world. Yes, the Greatest Nation in the world—made up of you, me, and the other 2.1 million who work every day to keep this Nation together. We must remember the promise to care for those who have borne the battle, as President Abraham Lincoln once said. If that promise is real, what else could he have meant?

As Veterans, our benefits are constantly being tampered with and tested by the House and Senate Committee of Veterans Affairs every single day. The Department of Veterans Affairs overlooks all these phony, ridiculous bills that only fill the pockets of bureaucrats in office. If no one can see the writing on the wall, then a promise made will certainly not be the promise kept.

Before we go any further, let me turn this around. We all know that the Department of Veterans Affairs can deliver quality healthcare, but it gets lost when bureaucracy steps in and forgets to write bills that protect Veterans' healthcare, as well as housing issues on 1,200 acres of deeded land, and the protection of compensation from third parties. Can anyone reading this understand why this is so important?

This website allows you to submit your concerns, letting everyone see and remember those who are truly forgetting every living Veteran. The bureaucrats have forgotten the names of those now in their graves—names that placed them in some of the most important seats in Washington. That doesn’t seem to matter anymore, as they pack bills with 3,000 pages of nothing!

Operation Firing For Effect has received certificates in the past, and we thank everyone across this Nation for supporting OFFE. These certificates represent each and every one of you. With your effort, Operation Firing For Effect has managed to fire with the voices of Veterans nationwide—your voices count! But we must stand as one when your voices are needed.

Recognizing what we can achieve, both as grassroots Veterans' organizations and at the national level, we can continue to stay on the front lines and keep an eye on any shenanigans from those seeking reelection and our votes.

On the lighter side, the Council of the City of Philadelphia awarded certificates recognizing Operation Firing For Effect and its efforts to secure equal and fair rights for all the brave men and women who have served our country. They urged everyone around the nation to participate in the Veterans March 2006 in Washington, DC, which took place on April 25 and 26, 2006.

This march occurred in both 2005 and 2006, and Operation Firing For Effect thanks the over 200 supporters who participated in these events.
